The truth: Although the initial cost is higher than a filling, it is a long-term solution that often prevents further complications or the need for major surgery.
Onlays, inlays (partial coverings)
Inlays and onlays are a modern, precise solution for restoring teeth where a traditional filling is not sufficient, but a full coating is not yet necessary.
These are partial restorations that are made in a laboratory and then permanently bonded to the tooth.
Inlays fill the inside of the tooth, while onlays also fill the biting tips.
Both approaches preserve more healthy tooth tissue, are very durable and aesthetic, as they are made of ceramic or composite that blends in with the natural tooth structure.
